What happens after you call

Every case moves at its own pace. These are the usual stages, and we tell you where yours stands.

    Call or message us

Tell us what happened, day or night. We explain your options and whether we can help.

  2. 02

    We gather the evidence

We request the crash report and 911 records, and ask for nearby video before it is overwritten.

  3. 03

    You focus on treatment

We identify every driver, owner and insurer involved, and your losses as they add up.

  4. 04

    Claim and negotiation

Once your recovery is far enough along to measure your losses, we present the claim and deal with the adjusters.

  5. 05

Questions

Car accident questions

What should I do right after a crash in McAllen?

Get medical care, call the police so there is a crash report, take photos and get the other driver's information. Do not give a recorded statement to their insurer before you talk to a lawyer.

Should I talk to the other driver's insurance company?

You have to report the crash to your own insurer, but you are not required to give the other driver’s insurance company a recorded statement, and you should not give one before you have spoken to a lawyer. Their adjuster is paid to limit what the company pays, and an early statement made while you are still in pain and unsure of the facts is the thing most often used later to argue you were partly at fault. Send them to us instead.

What if the driver who hit me had no insurance?

You may still be able to recover. Your own policy’s uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage is designed for exactly this, and it can also apply in a hit-and-run. If the driver was working at the time, their employer’s policy may cover the crash as well. Bring us your own insurance card and we will tell you what coverage you actually have, which is often more than people expect.

How long does a car accident claim take?

It depends mostly on your treatment: a claim cannot be valued properly until your doctors know what the injury will cost in the long run. A straightforward claim can resolve in a few months once treatment is finished, while a disputed one, or one that has to be filed as a lawsuit, takes longer. What does not move is the deadline — most injury lawsuits in Texas have to be filed within two years of the crash, so the sooner we start the more room there is.

Can I file a claim if I don't have papers?

Yes. Your right to compensation for an injury does not depend on your immigration status, and you do not need a Social Security number to bring a claim. We handle immigration matters in this same office, so if your case touches both, you are talking to one team. Everything you tell us is confidential.
