Please read this page before you rely on the information on this site or contact us. It explains what the site is, and what it is not.
01Attorney advertising
This website is attorney advertising. It is published by Alex Martinez Law to describe the firm’s personal injury and immigration services.
02Responsible attorney
Alex Martinez, McAllen, Texas, is the attorney responsible for the content of this website.
Texas rules require a lawyer advertisement to name a lawyer who is responsible for its content and to identify that lawyer’s primary practice location (Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 7.02(a)).
03General information, not legal advice
Articles, guides and answers on this site are general information about Texas and U.S. law. They are not legal advice for your situation. Laws, deadlines and government procedures change, and the right answer depends on your facts. Talk to a lawyer before you act.
04Health information
Some articles describe injuries and symptoms. That is general information, not medical advice. If you are hurt, see a doctor. In an emergency, call 911.
05No attorney-client relationship
Reading this site, calling us, sending a message on WhatsApp or Messenger, or filling out a form does not create an attorney-client relationship. You become a client only after the firm agrees to represent you, usually in a signed written agreement.
06Do not send confidential information
Until we have agreed to represent you, do not send confidential, private or sensitive details through the contact form, email or social media messages. Give us only the basic facts so we can check whether we can help. Sending us information does not stop a legal deadline from running.
07Past results
Any case result on this site was obtained for a specific client, on specific facts.
Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Every case depends on its own facts.
When we describe a verdict or settlement, the attorney who handled it played a substantial role in it. If a verdict was later reduced or reversed, or the case settled for less, we state the amount the client actually received (Rule 7.01).
08Reviews and testimonials
The reviews on this site are real Google reviews from clients. We show them in the client’s own words, without edits, with the reviewer’s name as Google shows it. Longer reviews appear as excerpts; the full text is on Google. A review describes one client’s experience and does not mean your case will have the same result.
09Fees and case costs
Personal injury: You pay no attorney’s fee unless we recover money for you. Case costs, such as filing fees and records, are explained in writing before you sign.
Texas rules require an advertisement that mentions a contingent fee to say whether the client must pay other expenses, such as the costs of litigation (Rule 7.02(c)). The firm still has to add its own sentence here, stating whether a client owes case costs if there is no recovery.
Immigration: we go through our fee and any payment plan at the consultation, and you have it in writing before you sign.
10Where we are licensed
Alex Martinez is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Adrian Martinez is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and, per his State Bar listing, admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Immigration law is federal law, and immigration matters are decided by federal agencies and immigration courts. Personal injury information on this site is based on Texas law.
11Spanish-language pages
Spanish pages will follow. The statements on this page will appear on them too, because Texas rules require these statements and disclaimers in each language an advertisement uses (Rule 7.01(d)).
12Links to other websites
Links to government agencies, courts and other websites are for your convenience. We do not control those sites or their content.
